| Job Description |
Principal Technical Writer to join our Technical Publications development team. The Principal Technical Writer will be responsible for planning and developing documentation content for customers and partners who build or customize Documentum-based solutions.
The successful candidate will be able to retrieve, organize, analyze and synthesize complex subject and transform it into easy-to-understand information for specific audiences.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop and revise product documentation and deliver content in PDF and online Help
• Participate and write in collaborative works groups in an Agile environment
• Write topic based content in XML using Arbortext
• Collaborate with cross-functional work groups, sharing information and establishing strong rapport with team members
• Interview subject matter experts, read design/functional specifications
• Adhere to technical publications style, standards and procedures
Qualifications:
• Experience producing online help and authoring topic-based content
• Experience writing documentation in an Agile development environment
• Experience with XML authoring, Arbortext, Xmetal, Docbook, DITA, DTDs.
• Experience with source control systems such as Perforce or Subversion
• Familiar with collaborative writing environments such as wikis, blogs, and discussion groups
• Recognize and respond to changing requirements, schedule changes and any other challenges that could impact the project
• Ability to work independently and as a responsible team member
• Manage multiple project assignments simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication
Education and Experience:
• BA or equivalent in a technical writing or other technical program
• 8-15 years experience writing technical documentation for enterprise software products
