Senior Practice Consultant
Should be able to work independently with minimum supervision, will be asked to take ownership of development parts of the product, understand it completely and aid with development of it.
SPC will also be expected to do hands on coding using various tools and technologies solving complex problems. You may have to mentor and guide some engineers as well.
Experience: 8 to 12 years
Job Description:
Ideal candidate should have solid base in CS, preferably with education from reputed college, Master’s degree a plus
Core engineering and design skills a must with good grasp of algorithms, data-structures, and problem solving
Total work experience of at least 6 years in product design/development, with at least 3 year in core
Java development
At least 3 year experience working with Hadoop development, preferably as a contributor to base
Familiarity with Shareware/Freeware products and technologies
Distributed Computing
Specialist in Distributed and parallel computing - addressing requirements like high performance, fault tolerance, maintainability & serviceability
Understands and appreciates the concepts & algorithms inherent in distributed computing.
Shows passion for building massively scalable applications.
Understands different caching methodologies and their needs.
Understands the concepts related to distributed I/O and its challenges.
Hadoop framework
Comfortable with the Hadoop framework, as well as hands-on development in Hadoop internals
Strong knowledge of the Hadoop MapReduce API and its nuances.
Hands on knowledge of the HDFS architecture and API.
Exposure to other projects under Hadoop viz. HBase / Pig etc
Strong understanding of the Agile development methodologies
