Experience– 5 - 8 years
Responsible in embedded software development of virtualization technologies and related protocols in a storage product. Assignments may include new product development as well as upgrades, and enhancements or fixes to existing products. The ideal candidate will have strong software development experience and excellent problem solving and communication skills. Candidate must be a self-starter, be well organized, and have the ability to thrive in a very fast-paced engineering environment and work well in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
Design enhancements and new features for virtualization technologies subsystems in the Symmetrix storage product. The position will also involve understanding the performance, support, availability, and manageability issues and developing solutions to address them. At times, the candidate will be required to understand details of hardware devices and protocols for debugging.
Requirements
- BSCS degree and 3-5 years of related experience or MSCS degree and 2-3 years of related experience
- Strong software design and development skills with demonstrable knowledge of modern operation systems and virtualization concepts
- Prior experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or equivalent is required
- Prior experience with SCSI and Fibre Chanel protocols is highly desirable
- General knowledge and application of software engineering processes
- Strong communication skills needed to interface with remote teams to report on project milestones, progress and challenges
- Ability to work in a team environment
