JOB DESCRIPTION:
Senior TSM Administrator responsible providing all levels of TSM administration. The goal of this area is to maintain and maximize the efficiency of a multi platform backup infrastructure solution while providing optimal availability and performance. Responsibilities include maintenance of TSM client/server software, registering new clients, TSM planning regarding housekeeping and policy determination. Also responsible for proactive monitoring of TSM infrastructure, resolving backup misses and failures, resolving slow backups or capacity deficiencies over multiple processing centers. The position may require on-call and/or out-of-hours work to help support these critical environments. A TSM Administrator is also expected to participate in Backup project initiatives and ensure that the systems are maintained according to best practice and security / compliance requirements. Other responsibilities include monitoring and implementing changes where required according to established policies, completing general system management tasks as required, and ensuring that Storage issues are addressed properly.
SKILLS DESIRED (MUST BE JOB RELATED):
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve TSM issues is a must. 2-3 years of TSM experience is required. TSM certification is desirable.Knowledge of scripting, networking, DR concepts and infrastructure design is also desirable.
