Position Title/Location:
Sr. QA Engineer / Calcutta
Reports To (Job Title):
Manager, QA
Purpose of the Job:
Define and execute software test plans related to wireless protocols. Provide guidance to local test team relative to timely completion of all test cycles. Develop and maintain automated testing systems. Ensure release, quality, and software control processes are followed. Coordinate training of staff. Report test results and quality metrics.
Essential Functions:
Technical
* Ensure the quality of software by conducting tests, following up with engineers and reporting test results to management
* Develop and maintain test automation and system test cases
* Maintaining all test platforms and test lab equipment
* Manage and maintain the automated regression testing systems
Communication
* Communicate test status, schedule adherence, and product quality to management
* Frequent interactions with software manufacturing, development engineers, and customer support staff
Required Experience:
* Minimum 5+ years experience in software development or QA or test tools development
* Experience in software testing and test development
* Experience with automated testing
* GUI testing experience
Necessary Skills:
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
* Strong UNIX/Linux skills
* Telecommunications Protocol experience strongly preferred
* C, Csh, Perl, Expect, and Make programming strongly preferred
* Working knowledge of one or more source control systems – Perforce, RCS, CVS, or ClearCase.
