Consultant Software Engineer:
GENERAL SUMMARY:
* Working under minimal direction and exercising considerable latitude,provides technical leadership in developing solutions to complex software engineering problems, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity.
* Coordinates and carries out major Research and Development projects,directing the work of other engineering and technical personnel.
* Interfaces with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project & technical direction.
* Assignments may include new products as well as upgrades, and enhancements or fixes to existing products.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Acts as a principal contributor to the specification, design and implementation of software subsystems and system products.Performs analysis of complex systems configuration; Writes architecture, function, and design specifications. Code and debug complex software, often involving novel techniques. Prepares diagnostic programs for evaluation of complex software, where special tool building or advances techniques are required. Investigates and troubleshoots critical problem areas and executes corrective action.
* May be accountable for overall product and/or serve as a customer advocate, may represent organization as principal customer contact
* Provides technical leadership in accomplishing project goals.Represents the work unit as the prime contact on the project, with cross-functional and/or cross-organizational influence and coordination.
* Conceives and proposes new ideas/products and guides their
implementation to a final product or systems according to industry standards
* Works with a wide variety of personnel in identifying market/product requirements and translating those into technical solutions. Presents and delivers these solutions.
* Investigates new software technologies to meet current and future needs; analyzes current technology with respect to product strategies
* Apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concept; Conceptualize and initiate solutions to complex problems and identify business impact of these solutions
REQUIREMENTS:
* Overall industry experience of more than 12 years developing software with at least 8 years as a technical lead or architect
* Expert level knowledge in NMS/EMS System design and Implementation
* UI Frameworks and Standards
* Web application development and advanced technologies.
* Networking Protocol Development
* Excellent Java, J2EE, C/C++
* OS Internals, Distributed Computing, POSIX, sockets, file systems,device drivers
* Developing and debugging high performance client application
* UI Frameworks and Standards (Desirable)
* Experience in utilizing contemporary software engineering principles
* Experience in utilizing contemporary software engineering principles
* Strong communication skills, both spoken and written, are required for interaction with team members, senior members of the staff and other organizations
