Development Consultant Engineer – Windows/UNIX & Oracle
Description:
As a senior technical member of a world-class Development team, you will lead a team that ensures that our product is the best of the breed, ultra-fast, and scalable with the highest level of reliability. You will collaborate closely with the Product Management and QA teams to strategize, architect, design, and deliver the system functionality.
Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for applying business and market understanding to drive the future roadmap of the product
• Produce software deliverables and technical documentation in collaboration with product management, QA and support
• Responsible for architecting, designing and coding software modules. Responsible for the overall project from the technical perspective
• Coming up with new ways to improve the product and software development practices. Identifying and developing new ideas and technologies
• Contribute to and review Project Requirement Document.
• Create, review and author Software Requirement Specifications and Design Documents
• Responsible for coding, bug fixes, escalations and customer interactions
• Responsible for project estimation, project planning, project status and bug reviews
• Mentoring of team members
Skill Set:
• B.E (or better) in Computer Science
• Minimum of 12 years experience in software development with at least 8 years as a technical lead or architect
• Strong English communication and writing skills
• Must have excellent communication skills, worked in relevant industries and have a good understanding of complete software development lifecycle
• Ability to design, develop and prototype complex algorithms
• Experience in writing design and implementation specifications
• Experience with working on large, enterprise class applications
• Very strong C++ skills
• Strong background in Windows or Linux/Unix mandatory
• Experience in developing networking, storage, backup, exchange (email) or database solutions
• Experience and knowledge of inner workings of databases and database backup methodologies especially Oracle are highly desired
• Knowledge of Distributed Computing highly desired
• Past experience with POSIX, sockets, file systems, device drivers highly desired
• Good to have experience in developing and debugging high performance client application
